Hulu - Castlerock @ ComicCon 2018

Client: HULU, Creative Riff

To tease an anticipated show, Comic-Con 2018 saw Hulu bring a showstopping recreation of Castle Rock’s Bed and Breakfast, transporting guests into Stephen King’s psychological-horror via a maze of macabres. In the spirit of a scare house and immersive theater, visitors encounter unsettling scenes including an underwater chamber where an oppressive glare of a submerged car greets them, a man washing mannequin parts in a bath tub, a mirror hall lined with life-sized mannequins that seem to move on their own accord, a lethal injection gone wrong, etc.

As for the behind-the-scenes, we created signage for Castlerock Hotel, sawed a car hood from its’ body for both the above and under-water display and configured an electric circuit for the headlights, and programmed an underwater projection map to bring the sensation of being under the lake to life.
