Creighton University Nerve Center

Client: Gallagher & Heider College of Business at Creighton University

The Nerve Center is a groundbreaking piece consisting of floating curved metal arcs that display live digital feeds from the S&P 500 as well as Heider’s values and creed. Prospective and current students look up at a 3D depiction of the Creighton seal, which is also digitally projected onto the lobby floor at night.

Weighing nearly 5,000 lbs, this multifaceted pendant was designed by Gallagher and brought to reality by our team. Creighton wanted to go big and make visitors feel like they were in a world of activity that reflected the energy of the space. The pendant was made to feel tectonic with pieces coming out at different sizes and angles.

We created a full 3D model with every detail down to the individual hardware, brought it through engineering to ensure its stability, sourced all required materials and software, and fabricated the pendant using aluminum, steel, MDF, metal truss, 600 flexible LED displays and LED downlighting.

Gallagher’s stunning design required a multifaceted skillset including 3D modeling, CNC machining, carpentry, powder coating, welding, electrical circuit design, and programming.
